Tuva camp incident: Multiple kids attacked after man ‘breaks into dormitory’
A man, who was reportedly intoxicated, managed to gain access to a fenced off area and bypass main security before breaking into a dormitory at a children’s camp before attacking sleeping kids
Multiple children were reportedly attacked during the night after a man managed to break into a dormitory at a children’s camp. According to some reports, at least 13 children were victim to the attack at Orlyonok camp in Tuva, Russia, during the early hours of today (June 21).
The man, who was reportedly intoxicated, is believed to have entered the fenced off camp from around the lake and bypassed the main security entrance.
The children, who are believed to be teenagers, were asleep when the man began to attack several in the dormitory.
Some publications report that only two of the children attacked required medical treatment, but none were hospitalised following the horrific ordeal.
It is believed that 13 people were victims of the attack in total and all were assessed for injuries.
News agency RIA Novosti spoke to a source close to the regional prosecutor’s office, who described the male suspect as a troublemaker who was drunk at the time of the incident.
Staff managed to detain the man and held him until police arrived on the scene. Prosecutors have opened a criminal case of hooliganism against the man.
Law enforcement agencies are still continuing to investigate at the scene and to understand how the man managed to gain access to the dormitory area.
It is currently unknown if the dormitory that was broken into contained girls or boys.
There has also been little information given about the man other than he was born in born in 2001, making him aged 24 or 25.
