Newborn baby found dead in ‘bin bag full of blood’ after passer-by spots suspect

Police are actively hunting a suspect who allegedly dumped a bin bag full of blood that also contained the body of a newborn near a path leading to Parc de la Bergère in Bobigny

A body of a newborn baby has tragically been found dead near a park in France after a passer-by spotted an individual leave a bin bag “full of blood”.

The passer-by quickly alerted police to the scene close to Parc de la Bergère in Bobigny earlier today (Jun 29). According to Le Parisien, police officers were approached shortly before 12:30pm to the horrific discovery.

The bin bag was found near a path leading to the park. Circumstances around the death of the newborn are still unknown.

The Bobigny prosecutor’s office confirmed they are investigating the incident as “murder of a minor under 15 and concealment of a body.”

According to reports in France, the passer-by was drawn to the incident because the bag was blood stained.

The body of the baby was reportedly not initially found when the bag was searched by police. It is believed that the witness never touched the bag, which has been described as a bin bag or plastic bag during several reports in France.

Police are now actively seeking the individual after a description of the suspect was given by the passer-by. The Seine-Saint-Denis territorial security service (ST93) is leading the investigation.

The public prosecutor’s office said: “The opening of an investigation for the murder of a minor under 15 and the concealment of a body following the discovery today at 12:30 p.m. of the body of a newborn child.”

No arrests have been made so far and the description of the individual has not been made available to the public.
