Brighton reject second Liverpool bid for Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool have had a new bid of £60m for Yankuba Minteh rejected by Brighton.

It was Liverpool’s second approach for the winger in as many days after Albion turned down a £50m offer on Thursday.

But Liverpool are trying to step up their efforts to make signings with new head coach Andoni Iraola saying he would like to have more wingers in his squad.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain remain far apart in their valuations of Bradley Barcola, with the Champions League winners wanting £145m for the France international.

As such, the Reds have turned their attentions to Minteh, who will miss the first couple of months of the season with injury, but while the Gambia international is reportedly keen to join, Brighton have spurned two bids.

Albion paid £30m for Minteh when they bought him from Newcastle in 2024 and he has gone on to score nine goals in 66 appearances for the Sussex club.

Liverpool have brought in one winger this summer, in Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but are yet to replace Mohamed Salah.

They submitted an £86m offer for Yan Diomande, but the Ivorian instead left RB Leipzig to join Real Madrid.
