‘Twisted’ woman adopted 20 girls to ‘torture and humiliate’ them in house of horror
WARNING DISTRESSING CONTENT: A woman who adopted as many as twenty young girls only to torture them and deprive them of food will spend the next four years in a brutal Russian penal colony as a result of her crimes.
A twisted woman has been thrown in prison after being found guilty of torturing around twenty children, including her eight adopted daughters, over a period of six years.
Elena Rogotovskaya, from Krasnodar in Russia, was found guilty of multiple torture and child abuse charges. According to a document published by the Krasnodar Regional Court, Rogotovskaya’s first spree of brutality took place between 2011 and 2017 in Russia’s Chelyabinski region.
She adopted eight young girls between five and 15-years-old during this six-year period. The court heard how her helpless victims were often punched and kicked, as well as being beaten with various objects that the woman who had promised to care for them kept around the house.
Court documents describe an “environment of humiliation” in which the vulnerable girls were “insulted” and “intimidated”, as well as having their food restricted along with other “cruel and humiliating punishments”.
The document says: “She regularly beat the children with her hands, feet, and various household objects, subjected them to cruel and humiliating punishment, restricted their diet, insulted them, and intimidated them, creating an environment of constant fear and despair.”
Shockingly, this six year period of abuse was only the beginning of Rogotovskaya’s regime of cruelty.
After the family moved house in 2017, Rogotovskaya inflicted another 12 children to a similar routine of beatings, torture and deprivation.
On one occasion in July 2020, she was found to have intentionally thrown a 10-year-old girl to the ground, causing a serious elbow fracture.
Despite the the long list of heinous crimes committed, Rogotovskaya pleaded not guilty in court, but was found guilty of all charges after a trial.
The regional court sentenced her to four years and six months in a regime penal colony, and gave her a three year ban from any activities related to the guardianship of minors or young children.
According to criminal records: “The Gelendzhik City Court sentenced Elena Rogotovskaya to four years and six months in a general regime penal colony and three years of disqualification from activities related to the guardianship of minors and young children.”
